Put a little syrup on your baby's fingers while they are sitting in a high chair, and hand them a feather.
It will delight and occupy them for a long time. They are mesmerized when they just can't drop the feather!
This is a great-grandma trick from 1881 that used to be done with molasses!
A similar trick is to wad up some scotch tape into a sticky ball and hand it to a baby or toddler
